After graduating and waiting for almost an year, the time came. I was joining my first ship from Poti, Georgia.It was the night of that special day, 4th March 2014. I reached
Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport well before time as advised.
The terminal was inaugurated recently and it was marvelous.I checked in, finished the formalities and went to the immigration
department. There was an old lady there for checking and verification. Suddenly she asked me something I least expected. "Why are you smiling?"
I quickly responded, “This is my first time inside an Airport and these are the emotions I can’t hide”.Well she finished soon and I headed towards the gate number I got. It
was 2130 Hrs and I still had an hour before boarding. Meanwhile I called
home and few relatives.
It was a Jet Airways flight to Muscat. From there I had to board Turkish Airlines for Istanbul.The gate opened and there was a long queue. As we entered, everybody
was welcome aboard by the staff. I checked my seat number, went
past the crew and relaxed in my window seat.
