Mikhail Kutuzov
We sailed from Poti, Georgia to our next port Novorossiysk, Russia.Day after tomorrow we arrived, Cadet asked me to come out. This was my first shore leave so I quickly agreed. I asked my senior and He also allowed me without any delay. We were accompanied by our Chief Officer. It was a pretty big port and we have to walk a lot asking our way out from shore personnel. As soon as we were outside the port, Chief Officer told something to Cadet and vanished. Now we were on our own. We just kept walking, roaming here and there. It was night so we don’t even have the option to go far. There was an old warship Mikhail Kutuzov named after Mikhail Illarionovich Golenischev-Kutuzov who was a Field Marshal of the Russian Empire.

While roaming we came across our Chief Officer who seems to be quite familiar with the place. There was nothing much we could do. So after roaming a while we decided to return.
We didn't enjoy much but it was still a very good outing since we were in Russia. I was wearing a nice jacket still I couldn't stop shivering. We took the same route back. I wish I had a chance to go out once more but since it was around a week since I joined I had no regrets.
It was a General cargo ship and I knew I will be visiting a hell lot of ports with good long port stays.
